Yes. It is possible to bathe while wearing a Holter monitor by following a few simple instructions for managing the ECG stickers, which the team will explain at your fitting appointment. Because monitors can be worn for up to 14 days, you will always be given clear guidance on keeping the stickers secure and the recorder dry, so your normal routine can carry on with minimal disruption.
Yes, and you are encouraged to. The purpose of the test is to record your heart during your usual routine, so please carry on as normal. It is best to avoid heavy sweating and strong magnetic fields while wearing the monitor, as these can affect the quality of the recording.
Your monitor has an event button. When you feel a symptom such as a flutter, dizziness or breathlessness, press the button and note the time and what you were doing on the diary card you are given. This lets Dr Kirk match exactly how you felt to what your heart was doing at that moment.
